I think what the point that most people are missing lately with the newer Resi games (5 & ORC included) is that it’s no longer a horror game. Well, it obviously obliterates a lot of fans hearts (partially myself included) but if you pay attention to the actual story line, it was meant to do that from the start (to go from a survival horror to a more tactical shooter). The first few games were about surviving this new unspeakable horror and figuring out who was behind it and how to fight it all off. Now that Leon, Chris, Ada, and the rest of the main characters know what’s going on with the newer games, they’re better equipped to understand and tame with the situation, which means the series’ gameplay going from point A (surviving the horror) to point B (a more “guns a blazin’” approach) and any of the sort. Which is what this game is showcasing, the tactical side of the whole outbreak (because the USS are trained to deal with this and whatnot). Granted, the one thing I wish they kinda would do is for the games to stop being as prenominal as they are; but that’s just a wish and despite that I completely understand why they’re doing what they (Capcom) are doing.
Aside from that, ORC was an awesome game. It wasn’t survival horror or like the original Resident Evils, but it was an AWESOME game. It had me giddy from the first second I popped it in the tray till now. It just wanted to let all Resi fans know:
Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City was totally worth playing. Nevertheless, it was a complete success. Being a die hard fan, I understand the importance of this game. It gives any one the chance to experience what it was like on the bad side; to be a bad-ass member of the infamous Umbrella Corporation. We get to screw up Resident Evil history and mess with our favorite characters. Finally get to be the bad guys and see behind the scenes from what it was like during the birth of the viral outbreak. So stop bashing them! They’re going above and beyond just to reach out to us and give everyone that emotional feel. If you are going to be harsh on Capcom for “Forever ruining the name of Resident Evil”, please give them a chance. One chance.
Resi forever baby. <3
